Ray Civello - President & CEO
Ray Civello is a creative visionary within the beauty and wellness industries and the founder of Back Of Bottle™ / BOB™, co-founder of Color Space™ and President & CEO of Civello Salon & Spa. He is a successful entrepreneur, salon owner, master stylist, photographer, inspirational public speaker, and educator. For more than 30 years, Ray Civello has been a revolutionary figure in the beauty industry as a master hairstylist and business owner. After starting his career as a stylist at one of Canada’s hottest salons, The Rainbow Room, Ray’s visionary talent and engaging personality propelled him to become a sought-after editorial hairstylist in North America and Europe. In 1985, he launched Civello, the first-ever salon-spa conglomerate of its kind in Toronto, Canada. He opened with the mission to inspire guests to look and feel their best. With his distinctive perspective and skill-set, Ray has crafted an approach to hair unlike any other by factoring in the personality and appearance of every individual through colouring, cutting, and styling.
Nella Arangio - Spa Director
Nella Arangio possesses an impressive resume spanning over two decades in the Canadian beauty and wellness industry. With extensive experience in spa and skincare, Nella has established herself as a prominent figure, renowned for her expertise and leadership. As a Spa Therapist, Holistic Practitioner, and Spa Educator, Nella's influence extends beyond the treatment room. Her role as a Professor at Seneca College, specializing in Esthetics, Medical Spa, and Holistic Spa Therapies, underscores her commitment to education and professional development. Nella's diverse skill set encompasses aromatherapy, reflexology, esthetics, makeup artistry, and more. She has pursued additional studies in Holistic Therapy, Ayurveda, Chinese Acupressure, and Massage Therapy, earning certifications as a Medical Pedicurist and Clinical Trainer for Cynosure in Canada.Passionate about both fashion and wellness, Nella embodies the intersection of beauty, health, and excellence.
MORGAN ROY - Creative Director (toronto)
Morgan began her career as a stylist at Vidal Sassoon and joined the Aveda Network in 2005 as a stylist at Civello Salon Spa. In 2006, she made the transition to Educator at the Aveda Institute in Toronto and has grown into the role of Creative Director for the Aveda Institute & Academy Salon in Toronto.
Morgan is a lead member of Aveda Team Canada and has presented on the main stage at multiple Aveda shows in Canada, the United States and Europe. A talented educator and mentor, Morgan loves teaching stylists of all levels the craft of haircutting and styling. Morgan is part of a select group of Aveda stylists who work the shows at New York Fashion Week creating looks for designers such as Rodarte, Jason Wu, Christian Siriano, Sophie Theallet and Betsey Johnson.
TAYLOR SMITS - Creative Director (Vancouver), Color space™ Hair educator
Taylor began his hairdressing career in 2005 at Civello South Granville. Under the guidance of his mentor, Daisy Colina, he was given opportunities to travel and assist at many Aveda shows internationally, working alongside world-renowned hair artists. He has participated in hair shows for New York Fashion Week, and Vancouver Fashion events, and has been featured on CTV Morning Live. Taylor has worked with artists such as Hannah Georgas, Kathleen Edwards, Louise Burns and Twin Rains, styling for music videos, photo shoots, live shows and the Juno Awards. Taylor’s passion is growth; seeking to further his craft and artistry through educating the young talent of the industry.
MELANIE WHITMORE - Director of Makeup
Melanie has over twenty years of experience in the field of Makeup Artistry in various different industries including film, music commercial campaigns and television. She is currently the Director of Makeup at Civello where she provides her skill and talent in Makeup to ensure the highest levels of guest service are achieved. Before joining the team at Civello, Melanie maintained a constant presence working with various top Toronto modelling agencies doing photo shoots and working on fashion shows in both Toronto and Internationally. In addition to being an integral part of the Civello family, Melanie is Assistant Creative Director on the Civello Creative Team. Her background as a fine artist and jewellery designer has translated back to her work as an artist. She is heavily influenced by design elements and various styles of art when fabricating pieces for stage at Master Jams and Congress presentations showcased by Team Canada across the globe.
