Quite literally getting to the root of the problem, the Vectus® laser emits gentle pulses of light energy that pass safely through the skin and into the hair follicle where it is converted to heat. Absorbing this energy, the follicle is destroyed and no longer able to produce hair.

Do not tweeze or wax, use hair removal creams or bleaches, or epilate the area to be treated four weeks prior to treatment. Self-tanner should not be used two weeks prior to treatment. Laser hair removal cannot be performed on skin that is recently tanned or burned from sun exposure. The area must be shaved the day of the treatment. You can do this at home prior to your appointment to ensure a clean smooth surface area for optimal results.
There must be no deodorant, creams, oils, perfumes etc. on the treatment area prior to the treatment. We also recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing on the day of the treatment.

The areas treated with the laser may be red following the treatment dependent on your skin type. This will generally fade within 24 hours.

The treated area can be washed normally with mild soap and water. Wash the area gently with your fingertips. Use of a washcloth or other abrasive materials is not recommended.

Cover the treated area with a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher and avoid sun exposure to the treated area for four to six weeks. Ensure no direct sun exposure for at least two weeks following the treatment.

Avoid irritants such as products containing glycolic acid in the area for five to seven days. No deodorant should be applied to the treated area for 24 hours.

Minor scabbing of the treated area can also occur following the treatment. Do not rub or pick the scabs. Wash gently with fingertips and mild soap. Apply an antibacterial ointment to the treated area. Apply 1% hydrocortisone or Aloe Vera to the treated area if redness occurs.

Hair remaining in the follicle will extrude typically within one to two weeks after treatment. This will look like growth, but is simply the body's way of eliminating the hair from the injured follicle. On the third day post-treatment, you may shave or gently wash the area to help loosen hair that is still embedded in the follicles.

Limited activity is recommended while perifollicular edema (red bumps) resolves. Jacuzzi’s, saunas, or steam baths are also not recommended until the skin is back to normal – typically within 24 hours.
